AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. There, she made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest athlete in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was subsequently named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
